The Orb river runs right along the edge of Cessenon and is a popular place to swim and canoe during the hot summer months.
Cessenon is a thriving, lively, tradtional French village built around the beautiful 14th Century church in the centre of Cessenon and topped by a 12th Century Cathar tower. Cessenon has two bars both of which serve food and a Restaurant. There are also three Bakers, a Butchers, Pharmacy, Tabac, Post Office, Bank with ATM and two small Supermarkets. Just across the suspension bridge on the other side of the river, there is a Pizza restaurant that opens during the summer months. All the bars and restaurants in Cessenon provide live entertainment on alternate nights once a week during the summer months.
Cessenon is well located with several low cost airlines serving 4 airports in the immediate area. Beziers 30 minutes, Montpellier & Perpignan 1 hour and Carcassonne 1 hour 15 minutes. Flights with Ryan Air can be purchased from as little as 1 Euro each way! The main town of Beziers with it's own magnificent Cathedral is only 20 minutes away and the Mediterranean beaches only 25 minutes away.
